TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will examine Trade Minister Enggartiasto Lukita related to a bribery allegation against House of Representatives (DPR) member Bowo Sidik Pangarso. This is a re-schedule after Enggar failed to fulfill the first summon on July 2 as he was abroad.

“Investigators had sent the summon letter for examination on July 8,” said the agency spokesperson Febri Diansyah, Tuesday, July 2.

Febri explained that his agency was deepening two issues regarding the investigation; alleged bribery on the shipping cooperation between PT Humpuss Transportasi Kimia and PT Pupuk Indonesia Logistik and alleged gratification related to the trade ministerial regulation on refined sugar.

“We need clarification from the two issues,” Febri added.

The anti-graft body had previously examined several officials of the ministry, namely Husodo Kuncoro Yakti, Wawan Kurniawan, and Heri Padmo Wicaksono.

Bowo Sidik told investigators that one of the sources of gratification was Enggar. The minister was allegedly granted Rp2 billion in Singapore dollar through his aide. The fund, Bowo claimed, was given to "secure" the ministerial regulation which was signed in mid-2017.

Meanwhile, Minister Enggartiasto Lukita refuted the allegations saying he delivered money to the Golkar Party politician.
