TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has scheduled to question inactive PLN president director Sofyan Basir, today, May 27. He will be questioned for the second time as a suspect in the bribery case related to the Riau-1 steam power plant project.

"This is a rescheduling of the previous one," KPK spokeswoman Febri Diansyah said in a written statement on Monday.

Sofyan was unable to attend the first summons on May 24, 2019. At that time, he was supposed to have been questioned as a witness in the corruption allegation in the lease of marine vessel power plant (MVPP), a case currently handled by the Attorney General's Office.

Sofyan was named a suspect by the KPK on April 23, 2019 as a follow-up to the development of the corruption case.

The KPK accuses Sofyan of saying yes to a bribe from Johannes Budisutrisno Kotjo.

The case has convicted three people as guilty: DPR's Energy Commission former deputy Eni Maulani Saragih, Idrus Marham, and Blackgold Natural Resources shareholder Johannes Budisutrisno Kotjo. Eni Saragih was sentenced to 6 years in prison, while Kotjo got 2 years and 8 months. Idrus Marham was sentenced to 3 years in jail.

The KPK has also nabbed Borneo Lumbung Energi and Metal owner, Samin Tan, whose status is now a suspect. The case has not been tried yet.
