3 German Media Highlight the Beauty of Java, Bali, Banda Tourism

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - As many as three German media, namely Abenteuer und Reisen, Silent World, and daily newspaper Die Welt, covered the beautiful of Java, Bali, and Banda islands.
Die Welt was one among five famous newspaper in Germany. The total readers reached 500,000 people. They reported several destinations worth to visit during summer including Borobudur Temple and Mount Ijen.
According to an official of the Indonesian Embassy to Berlin Hannan Hadi today, July 26, the news was the result of the media visit in tandem with the country’s government.
Abenteuer und Reisen covered Borobudur, Solo, Yogyakarta, and Ijen in photographs of the temple and daily life. Special notes were also provided in several interesting places namely Gede City Market, Es Buah Bunuh Diri (fruity ice) in Kliwon Market and Cafe Tiga Tjeret in Solo, as well as Watu Dodol Restaurant in Situbondo.
Indonesian Ambassador to Germany Havas Oegroseno said the country was fascinated by unique and typical things in the archipelago. They tend to spend times in typical places such as local markets and restaurants, rather than go to many places together.
German tourists likely had the highest spending amounted to USD2500 within three weeks on average thus Germany recorded the highest level of expenditure on travel in 2016, totaling USD79 billion.
Meanwhile, Silent World, which was a media covers diving stuff, especially reported diving tourism in Bali, particularly in Tulamben where a United States Army cargo ship torpedoed by Japan in 1942.
Tulamben was famous for its Mola-mola fish and whale sharks and also the wreck ship site became the world’s famous dive spot.
Diving was one of the recreative hobbies among German citizen. They had several special magazines related on the matter, diving training centers, and even their own diving spots.
Furthermore, Die Welt newspaper reported the beautiful of Banda Island and its underwater nature. The corals and various fishes in Banda were named the prettiest in Southeast Asia. The coverage was also reported via online.
The tourism coverages were the campaign conducted by the Indonesian Embassy to Germany in a bid to attract German tourists. The embassy in Berlin maintains the tourism campaign in a synergy with Tourism Ministry and airlines company.
