TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The test and trial period for the South Sumatera LRT is expected to be completed by the end of July. The trial run was started in May.
"To date, the infrastructure and facilities test are still being carried," Head of Public Communication and Information Baitul Ihwan said in a written statement Tempo received on Thursday, July 12.
Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi will accompany President Joko Widodo to review the ongoing development process on Friday, July 13, 2018.
The South Sumatra LRT runs on a 22.3-kilometer track, with a total of 13 stations, including lines to the airport.
The train line will operate 18 hours and 20 minutes every day from 04:00 until 22:20. For the initial stage of operations, the LRT tariff is set between Rp5,000 and Rp10,000, in effect until December 2018. After December, the government and relevant institutions will decide on the tariffs.
