TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Cultural attraction “Bakaru Nagari” that was rolled by indigenous community Kenagarian Kajai Kota Sawahlunto captivated thousands of eyes at Sawahlunto Multicultural Festival 2015 in West Sumatra on Friday, November 27.
Tribal chief K. Datuk Bagindo Rajo said on Friday that the event is an old tradition that has been preserved by the society to build togetherness among the surrounding residents and to reject bad luck.
The event was opened with a cultural parade, and followed by shalawat and dzikir recital by all participants. Traditional dance Tari Piring, and silat performance was featured on the closing night.
Sawahlunto Multicultural Festival was held as part of celebration of the 127th anniversary of Sawahlunto.
