TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Low-cost carrier Citilink Indonesia has resumed its regular passenger services from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport in East Jakarta after having suspended its services during the 60th commemoration of the Asian-African Conference held from April 21-25, 2015.
The executive director and chief executive officer (CEO) for Citilink Indonesia, Albert Burhan, said that Citilink services from the capital's secondary airport had continued on Sunday, April 26, 2015. "As per today, all Citilink services departing from Halim Perdanakusuma are operating as per usual," he said through a press release on Monday, April 27, 2015.
It is known that Garuda Indonesia's subsidiary flies to Medan's Kualanamu Airport, Surabaya's Juanda Airport, Semarang's Achmad Yani Airport, Yogyakarta's Adi Sucipto Airport, Solo's Adi Soemarmo Airport, Palembang's Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin Airport, as well as Malang's Abdul Rachman Saleh, from its hub in Halim Perdanakusuma Airport—operating up to 40 flights per day.
Albert said that despite the risk of disruptions, Citilink had fully supported the conference, especially since the conference sought to commemorate, celebrate and rejuvenate the ties between nations in Asia and Africa. "We have done our best to ensure that the impact on our regular passenger services is minimized," he said.
The airline's CEO also said that Citilink's capacity to minimize the impact on its passengers was thanks to the help and coordination between several authorities. "We hereby thank the Transportation Ministry, Angkasa Pura II, the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU), as well as Airnav Indonesia, for allowing us to divert our services to Soekarno-Hatta throughout the conference," said Albert.
