BKPM Identifies 19 Investment Plans from Japanese Investors

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) identified 19 investment plans worth US$ 8.9 billion from Japanese investors in the period of October 2014 to March 12, 2015.
In a press release received on Sunday, March 22, 2015, BKPM chief Franky Sibarani said the investors include two companies in the automotive sector with investment plans totaling at US$600 million, three companies in the chemical industry (US$295.35 million), as well as industrial zones and other infrastructure businesses including the oil and gas industry (US$ 7.5 billion).
According to Franky, some companies are scheduled to meet with President Joko Widodo in an investors' forum during his visit to Japan this week.
The BKPM has also received investment license applications from Japanese investors in the period of October 2014 to March 19, 2015. The investment total is US$2.7 billion, from companies engaged in the automotive components industry.
