Pertamina to Increase Fuel Supplies in Ramadan

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – State-owned oil and gas giant Pertamina's Corporate Communications Vice President Ali Mundakir said on Sunday, June 8, 2014 , that his company would ampplify its fuel supplies by 10 percent ahead of the fasting month.
According to Ali, fuel consumption was projected to rise by 10 percent or about 8,000 kiloliters per day from the 80,000 kiloliters per day in regular months.
He added that diesel fuel consumption, meanwhile, was projected to drop in the fasting month by five percent or 4,200 kiloliters per day from the regular consumption of 42,000 kiloliters per day.
“The fuel consumption in the fasting month usually increases by 5-10 percent each year,” said Ibrahim Hasyim from the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency.
In 2013, the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry recorded a 14 percent rise in the fuel consumption during the Lebaran day. At that time, Pertamina managed to maintain supplies of Premium for 17.45 days, diesel fuel for 21.27 days, aviation fuel for 27.63 days and LGP for 14.6 days.
