TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil said that Russian businessman and Vice President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry Suren Vardanyan showed interest upon establishing a uniquely West Java restaurant and café in Moscow following a meeting in Russia`s capital on Wednesday, October 17.

According to Ridwan Kamil in his press release on Thursday, October 18, Suren Vardanyan gave an enthusiastic response to the governor’s pitch. “I will appoint a local businessman from the Moscow Restaurant Association to follow up on the plan of an Indonesian restaurant in Moscow,” said Ridwan, quoting Vardanyan’s statement.

Ridwan Kamil, who was accompanied by several Indonesian officials, held a meeting with businessmen and investors that are joined in the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry at Sharikopodshipnikovskaya Street on Wednesday, October 17.

The governor broke down West Java’s investment potential on infrastructure developments, transportation and housing, agricultural, tourism, and education. “The potential is worth Rp268 trillion within the next five years,” said the man who is also known as Kang Emil.

Ridwan Kamil said that he also offered exports of numerous agricultural commodities such as the Kopi Java Preanger. In response, Suren Vardanyan said that investment opportunities in the infrastructure sector are relevant to the skills and interests of Russian businessmen.
