Bikers Gang Attack; Police Question Witnesses

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The police said they are still investigating the act of vandalism done by a bikers' gang in Kemang, South Jakarta. Officer says that the police are beginning to take witnesses' testimonies.


"We are still questioning witnesses from the crime scene," The Mampang Prapatan Police Precinct's head of criminal investigation unit, First Insp. Achmad Fajrul Choir said in Jakarta, Tuesday, March 6.

Fajrul said the police have not pin-pointed to what motives these bikers may have had to commit their act of brutality. He also said that no victims had reported to the Mampang Prapatan Police, as they were directed to provide testimonies to the South Jakarta Police Resort.


The police are still patrolling the Kemang area and its surroundings.

The crime happened on Monday morning at 01:45. The Jakarta Metro Police said that a number of vehicles were vandalized and damaged, and local residents suffered injuries after being attacked by the bikers' gang.


The incident was also recorded by a video that was later posted to YouTube. The video shows people on motorbikes attacking residents in front of Cafe Locarasa at Kemang Raya Street.
