TEMPO.CO, Singkil - An angry mob was reported to have burned down the HKI Deleng Lagan church in Aceh Singkil Regency, Aceh, on Tuesday, October 13, 2015. Clash was also reported between two different group of people, leaving one casualty.

"There was no clear report on the incident. We are currently investigating it by visiting the incident site and the hospital," said Khaldum B.K. Head of Information and Communication of the Aceh Singkil Regency Government on Tuesday, October 13, 2015.

The clash was suspected to began as local Muslim residents urged the local government to take down the church, which was said to be illegal. The Singkil Regency Government had conducted a meeting and decided that the church will be taken down next week.

However, the angry mob refused the decision, and insisted that the church must be taken down immediately.

Around 700 men and women marched towards the church and burned it down to ashes. The mob continued marching to another church, the GKPPD Danggurun Church, which was already heavily guarded by the police.
