TEMPO.CO, Jayapura - Papua Regional Police said on Friday, July 24, 2015, arrested two Karubaga residents, suspected to be involved in the conflict in Karubaga Papua last week.
Papua Regional Police spokesman Patrige told Antara, they had arrested the men on Thursday, JW, 31, a local administration staff and AK, 26, who works in a bank in Tolikara.
Both men were arrested after witnesses said they had mobilized masses during the incident.
They are now on their way from Wamena to the Papua capital of Jayapura to be examined at the Papua Police Criminal Investigations Directorate.
“From the two men we hope to identify those involved in the case,” said Police Commisioner Patrige.
On Friday, July 17, an attack to Muslims during Eid prayers lead to public unrest and fatal shootings of protesters.
