TEMPO.CO, Makassar – South Sulawesi Governor Syahrul Yasin Limpo has invited Swiss Economic Minister Marie Gabrielle Ineichen Fleisch to Toraja to observe the tourist destinations the region boasts.

“As for the time, it could be during Lovely December. Related agencies will make the best out of this event so the Swiss Economic Minister will be interested in cooperation in the tourism sector,” he said after a function with the minister on Wednesday night, April 22, 2015.

Syahrul said he would also take Fleisch on a tour to see the province’s waters, which was non-existent in her country. “So it’s just a matter of how we can make sound promotions to attract them to come,” he said.

He said the region needed to improve its infrastructure—including the ongoing construction of an airport—to ease access into it.

Fleisch welcomed the invitation. “I’m glad to have this invitation. I have come several times to Indonesia and visited a number of places,” she said, adding that she was impressed by the cocoa production in South Sulawesi and West Sulawesi.
