TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Chief Abraham Samad has shown objection to the remission plan towards corruption convict Muhammad Nazaruddin, saying corruptors are not entitled to a remission.
"We are trying to make a deterrent effect to corruptors and the Indonesian people are fighting corruption massively," Abraham said in a statement yesterday.
A remission, Abraham added, is appropriate to be given to the people who have helped in uncovering corruption crimes. "Like a justice collaborator ," said the alumni of University of Hasanuddin, South Sulawesi.
Abraham refused to comment on whether Nazaruddin deserves a remission. "We have a legal team to review that [case]."
