TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The head of the Jakarta International School (JIS), Timothy Carr, admitted that William James Vahey, the FBI's suspect for child molestation, had worked in the school. He stated the school has just recently received an information from another international school in Caracas, Venezuela, concerning the investigation by federal investigators.

"After receiving the information, we immediately contacted the FBI for a verification. The suspect is a former employee of JIS who quitted in 2002," Carr told the press. He stated that JIS will be fully cooperating with the FBI. Also, JIS will remain focusing on the currently-exposed sexual abuse case.

Based on the FBI database, Vahey has been reported to be in and out international schools. His aim was to find children to sexually abuse. Prior to his teaching in JIS during 1992-2002, Vahey had been in Saudi Aramco Schools (Saudi Arabia), Passargad School (Iran), and American Community School (Greece). Vahey killed himself last month, with a total victim tally reaching more than 90 children across the globe.
