TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - South Jakarta District Court has sentenced Neil Bantleman, Jakarta International School teacher, guilty for comitting seual harassment. "The court sentences the defendant with 10 years of imprisonment," said Judge Nur Aslam.
The court also sentenced Bantleman with Rp 100 million fine and a subsidiary six months of imprisonment. The judges assembly claimed that the defendant has violated Article 82 of Law No. 23/2002 Child Protection. Nur Aslam claimed that Bantleman has sexually abused JIS students.
Previously, prosecutor has charged Bantleman with 15 years of imprisonment and Rp 300 millions of fine. The defendant, however, claimed that he will appeal against the verdict and argued that the decision was biased.
