TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta provincial administration would reschedule the trial of Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) system for 20 days on Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat, Central Jakarta.

“This is part of the technical evaluation, we do not for sure try the technology, but review documents reported by supplier candidate. From the operator, the trial auction will last for 20 days on Jalan Merdeka Barat,” said the acting head of Jakarta Transportation Agency Sigit Wijatmoko in Jakarta on Wednesday, November 14.

However, the organizer postponed the ERP trial which previously set to commence on Wednesday, November 14.

Sigit explained the city administration auctioned system development of ERP Jakarta application via lpse.jakarta.go.id. The auction process would start from the prequalification process, the company’s qualification document based on the suggestion conveyed by the tender organizer.

During the evaluation stage, three candidates of supplier would be announced to later undergo the next stage concerning technical evaluation and price. Sigit mentioned the price had yet been decided because the main focus remained on how ERP system could encourage Jakartans changed transportation means from private vehicles to public transportation.

The ERP system was expected to support public transportation such as Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) trains and control the traffic as well as to reduce air pollution.

Jakarta Transportation Agency expected the ERP system could be applied to road users on Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat before the year’s end as the application of electronic ticketing (e-ticketing) policy which had been implemented along Jalan Sudirman and MH Thamrin.
