TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The spokesperson for 212 Alumni Brotherhood (PA 212) Novel Bamukmin said his party would still hold the 212 Reunion Rally.
“We receive the appeals from the National Police Headquarters every year, and this event has become an annual agenda as a forum for national grand gathering,” Novel said in reply to Tempo`s text message, Wednesday, November 14.
The National Police Headquarters through the Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General Setyo Wasisto said it had monitored the planned reunion of the 212 Defend Islam Rally participants two years ago. He appealed for this event not to be held.
But if it continues to be held, Setyo requested that the rally must follow the applicable regulation. The rally is requested so as not to make riot, trouble and commotion. Setyo also said that he would coordinate with the Jakarta Police because the PA 212 reunion would be held in the Monas area, Central Jakarta.
Novel claimed that his party would coordinate and arrange the permits to the Jakarta Police. He said the process was indeed the standard procedure of the programs conducted by PA 212.
“The permit process must be done because it is the standard procedure for the PA 212 program in making the event,” he said.
The 212 reunion is planned to be filled with tausiyah, dhikr, as well as commemorating the Birthday of the Prophet. The frontman of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Rizieq Shihab was scheduled to give tausiyah in this event.
