Shopee Records More than 11 mn Orders in 24 Hours on Harbolnas

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - E-commerce Shopee recorded the orders and customer visits to its website had increased on the national online shopping day or Harbolnas on November 11.
“And again, it exceeds the previous Shopee achievement,” Shopee CEO Chris Feng said in a written statement on Tuesday, November 13.
Shopee had an increase in transactions of up to 19,309 times and the average website visit was 300 times. The most popular categories are beauty products, women’s clothing and electronic products.

“Earphones, smartphones, and bags are the most sought-after products by male customers,” Chris said. Whereas hijab, micellar water and cooking oil are the most sought-after products by female customers. The transaction is 99 percent done through Shopee mobile application.
Bank Mandiri's SEVP Consumer & Transaction Jasmin noted that there was an increase in transactions during the 11.11 discount party. At least, an increase in transactions in Bank Mandiri’s payment channel was at around 44 percent compared to regular days.
Jasmin said the increase in the transaction was also supported by credit and debit card promos at selected merchants such as Shopee, Lazada, and JD.id. Bank Mandiri also organized 11 percent discount promotions and 0 percent installments up to 18 months.
