Jokowi to Register for Presidential Election Tomorrow Morning

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko `Jokowi` Widodo paid Vice President Jusuf Kalla a visit today, informing the VP of his plans to register as a presidential candidate at the General Election Commission (KPU) tomorrow morning.

“I told Pak Jusuf Kalla upon my presidential candidacy registration tomorrow morning at the KPU,” said the president.

Jokowi is scheduled to register with his vice presidential candidate at the KPU headquarters on Friday, August 10, at 9 a.m. However, he was still hesitant to reveal the identity of his future running mate.

“It will be announced later, now is not the time. It could be later in the afternoon or tomorrow,” said Jokowi.

As previously reported, secretary general of the Indonesian Justice and Unity Party (PKPI) Verry Surya Hendrawan said that Jokowi will register before the Friday prayers tomorrow.
