TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Garuda Indonesia is targeting millennial flyers to book the airline's Economy Basic class seats. Garuda's director of domestic commerce Nina Sulistyowati said the class is opened to respond to millennial travelers' increasing interest to visit various destinations.
"For the initial stage, the target is to get 15 percent of Garuda's entire number of passengers," Nina said here on Monday, May 28.
Garuda's Economy Basic class offers seats that are 15-20 cheaper compared to coach. For the time being, Garuda is offering 12 economy basic seats per flights for 21 routes.
Two types of aircraft that will have these Economy Basic seats are the ATR 72-600 and the CRJ 1000. Garuda Indonesia has 16 units of the ATR 72-600 and 18 units of CRJ 1000.
