TEMPO.CO, Pekanbaru - Counterterrorism squad Densus 88 arrested two residents of Rokan Hilir, Riau, who were suspected to be involved in terrorist networks. The arrest was conducted by a joint force with Riau Regional Police and Rokan Hilir Police.
Rokan Hilir Police Chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Sigit Adiwuryanto said the police arrested HS alias Abu Yusuf and AH in different locations.
HS was arrested at his home in Village V Bangun Jaya, Kepenghuluan Sungai Tapah, Pujud Subdistrict, Rokan Hilir. While AH was arrested in the palm farmer that owned by his parents in Sungai Labu Village, Kepenghuluan Teluk Bano, Bangko Pusako Sub-district, Rokan Hilir.
"We only assisted the arrest, the investigation was conducted by Densus 88," Sigit said on Sunday, May 20.
According to Sigit, Densus 88 team together with Rokan Hilir Police are still working for further involvement of other parties. The joint team continued to comb the terrorist network following the attack on Riau Police Headquarters on Wednesday, May 16.
The Densus 88 team then investigated several areas in Riau. Eight suspected terrorists have been arrested in Dumai City, Riau, and one person in Rupat Island, Bengkalis. Some of them allegedly had family relations with the terrorist suspects in Riau Police HQ.
