TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - House of Representatives (DPR) Speaker Bambang Soesatyo said that the country has given Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI) an opportunity to seek justice by submitting an appeal following the decision to disband the pro-caliphate group.
“The State has provided room for HTI in the form of legal proceeding through an appeal,” said Bambang Soesatyo in South Jakarta, May 8.

Previously on Monday, the State Administrative Court (PTUN) dropped HTI`s appeal upon its status as a legal entity. The PTUN verdict also confirmed the Government’s Law No. 16/2017 on mass-organization.
HTI submitted the appeal in an attempt to revoke Legal and Human Rights Ministry Decree that revokes the Ministry’s verdict on the establishment of the Islamic organization. They took legal steps after the Mass-Organization Law (UU Ormas) was introduced.
According to Bambang, HTI must accept the verdict that was taken through a legal path, which he views has been received peacefully by the organization since there was no uproar following the verdict.
