First, from the safety aspect, ojek online has no guarantee, from the most basic thing, the protection from the weather.
“Public transportation still protects the passengers from the body of the car or vehicle, online ojek is vulnerable to heat and rain,” he said. It would be very dangerous because the passengers can collide directly with hard objects, such as asphalt.
Second, from the economic aspect, Sugihardjo explained, the smaller the transportation the bigger the operational cost variable.
“In the transportation system, the smaller the transportation the cost is more expensive, for example, Mayasari's PPD is 100, metro mini 175, mikrolet 350,” he said.
He said that online ojek is only as a complementary transportation, it serves when the public transportation is no longer in the hours of operation.
However, when the number of online ojek has been set to be regulated, and the Ministry of Transportation cannot determine the standard tariff because it is not under the legal protection, namely Law No. 22/2009 on Road Transport Traffic.
