TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Vice President Jusuf Kalla viewed that Setya Novanto`s allegations against Coordinating Minister Puan Maharani and Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung are baseless and incorrect.
“That statement is untrue,” said the Vice President at the vice presidential office on Tuesday, March 27.
E-KTP graft defendant Setya Novanto recently alleged that Puan Maharani and Pramono Anung were one of the recipients of the graft funds.
Jusuf Kalla defended his view based on the reasoning that Setya’s statement has been denied by Made Oka Masagung, who is a colleague of Setya and has also been named as a suspect in the e-KTP graft case.

“That statement was rejected by Oka who said that it was not true. Novanto said that Oka was the one who arranged it all, however, Oka denied the claims. So the statement is clearly untrue,” said the vice president.
In a trial, Setya Novanto claimed that Puan and Pramono Anung received US$500,000 each, from Made Oka Masagung.
However, Setya’s statement was denied by Made’s attorney, Bambang Hartono. “Setya Novanto’s statement at last week's trial was not true and has been denied by the person involved,” said Bambang on Monday, March 26.
Bambang defended his client by saying that Made never paid a visit to Setya Novanto's house to report that two parliament members received their share from the e-KTP graft.
