TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Setya Novanto, a suspect in the electronic ID cards (e-KTP) graft case, said his former colleague at the House of Representatives (DPR) Ganjar Pranowo had received money from the e-KTP project.

Setya said the same statement has been conveyed by DPR’s Commission II former Chairman Chairuman who also received US$500 from Andi Narogong at that time and shared the money to Ganjar.

“I have met Chairuman and he admitted receiving US$200 from Andi and said some of them was for Ganjar,” Setya asserted at the Corruption Court trial, Central Jakarta, March 22.

Meanwhile, when met in any occasions, Ganjar Pranowo denied ever received money from e-KTP card project. During Setya Novanto’s trial as a witness on February 8, 2018, the Central Java Governor denied the accusation.

Ganjar explained he had once refused money that DPR's Commission II from Golkar Faction (deceased) Mustokoweni Murdi promised. He stated Andi Narogong conveyed the plea that he never gave money to him (Ganjar). “Pak Setya Novanto’s statement is wrong,” said Ganjar on February 8.

Setya Novanto is the suspect in the e-KTP graft case. The KPK prosecutors charged him with intervening the budgeting in the e-KTP project in 2010 until 2011 when he served as Chairman of the Golkar Party.

Setya Novanto is reported having received a total fee of US$7.3 million and a Richard Mille wristwatch worth US$135,000. He was charged with Articles 2 and 3 of Law No. 31 on Corruption.
