PLN Jakarta Fast-tracks Power Projects to Welcome Asian Games

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State power company PLN`s Jakarta Distribution Office (Disjaya) is welcoming the 2018 Asian Games by fast-tracking electricity infrastructure projects in the capital city. The company has a number of projects currently underway in Jakarta.
"We are ready to provide the reliable power supply for the Asian Games. There are several power infrastructure projects that we are speeding up," PLN Disjaya general manager M. Ikhsan Asaad said on Thursday, January 11.
PLN Disjaya is currently installing underground cables using Direct Drilling (HDD) Horizontal drilling machines.

The company has invested approximately Rp250 billion for the construction of network transmissions extending 150,000 kilometers.
With the HDD machine, PLN Disjaya supports the local government's program to create a tidy and orderly Jakarta with the use of Underground Cable Channels in every corner of the Capital, without reducing electricity supply.
According to Iksan, Indonesia's "face" is at stake for hosting the 2018 Asian Games. Therefore, Jakarta as the country's capital has to prepare and avoid any technical error during the event.
For the Asian Games, he continued, PLN Disjaya will maximize its services, focusing on the Athletes Guesthouse in Kemayoran.
