On last year’s Christmas, hard-line organization Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) conducted acts of raiding in public places to spread an edict issued by Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) that forbids Muslims to wear Christmas attire.
In order to prevent raids in Jakarta, Idham Azis has instructed all district police chiefs to coordinate with local mass organizations to forbid raids. "We must ensure that Christmas can run well in an orderly manner," Idham added.
