TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta gets "eerie" as the capital displays an unlikely quiet scene in Christmas holiday time. Tempo reported that only several vehicles seen passing the wide and usually crowded streets of Jakarta.
Gatot Subroto Street and M.T. Haryono Street, notorious for traffic jams, were seen cleared from any kind of vehicles. Same thing happened in Pancoran, Kuningan, and Sudirman Streets.
This year's Christmas has also created a moment for some people to get some sweat, cycling, and travelling the city. Nevertheless, the police did not let their guard down. Some armed personnel were seen securing several areas, such as at the office of the Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI).
