TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A survey conducted by pollster Indo Barometer concluded that President Joko Widodo or Jokowi would have the highest electability should he be paired with Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) in the upcoming Presidential Election, Indo Barometer president director M. Qodari said.
Qodari added that the pair would be more popular than if Jokowi was to be paired with Indonesian Military Commander Gen. Gatot Nurmantyo.
“When being paired with Jokowi, 17.1 percent of the respondents vote for AHY,” Qodari said during a discussion held in Jakarta on Sunday, December 3.
The survey was conducted on November 15-23 involving 1,200 respondents across the country. The survey has a margin of error of plus minus 2.83 percent.
Qodari explained that AHY has gained more popularity after running as a Jakarta Governor candidate. Indo Barometer found that AHY’s popularity stands at 64.7 percent above United Indonesia Party (Perindo) chairman Hari Tanoesoedibjo.
However, in terms of individual popularity, Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan is on the top of the vice president candidates list with an electability of 10.5 percent, followed by AHY with an electability of 9.6 percent.
