Anies Remains Tight-Lipped over 212 Rally Reunion

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - In response to a question related to his presence at the 212 Rally Alumni reunion to be held on Saturday, December 2, Anies Baswedan smiled and immediately got into his car.

Anies earlier attended the celebration of the Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday at the National Monument (Monas) in Central Jakarta. Anies was wearing a white shirt, black pants, rimless black cap, and green scarf.

“We gather here to commemorate the Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday,” Anies said during the event that was attended by thousands of people on Friday, December 1.

During his speech, Anies called on the public, particularly Muslims, to live as Prophet Muhammad did. However, he views that no one can be better than Prophet Muhammad.

“Prophet Muhammad is the noblest and prominent person in the world. None can be better than him,” the Jakarta governor said.

Anies Basewedan also expressed a gratitude as people could gather at Monas to socialize and pray together.
