The PVMBG through the Volcano Observatory Notice to Aviation (VONA) issued the new notice on Sunday, November 26, at around 5:50 a.m. Earlier, the flight status in Bali was set to orange. VONA said the volcanic ash is moving to east and south east following the wind directions.
Kasbani said the information should be taken into account by pilots to avoid routes around Mount Agung. Although it has issued a red notice, it has no authority to close the flight routes that pass Mount Agung.
Ngurah Rai Airport spokesperson Arie Ahsanurrohim said activities at Ngurah Rai Airport in Bail remain normal. However, Arie said that his office would continue to monitor the Mount Agung volcanic ash spread. To this date, as many as 22 foreign airlines and a national airline have canceled flight schedules from and to Bali.
