Breaking News: 5.0 Magnitude Earthquake Shakes Central Sulawesi

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A 5.0 magnitude tectonic earthquake shook the city of Palu and Donggala regency, Central Sulawesi, on Saturday at around 4 p.m. The residents in both regions cold feel the quake’s vibration.
"BMKG’s updated analysis shows that the epicenter of the quake was at 1.21 South Latitude and 119.96 East Longitude," said the head of Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency’s (BMKG) Earthquake and Tsunami Center Moch. Riyadi Saturday, Nov. 25.
The earthquake was 10 km deep. Riyadi said the center of the quake was at 3 km northeast of Pakuli, Donggala Regency.

He said, until 04:35 p.m., the BMKG’s observation had not shown any aftershocks. And as of press time, there is no report on damage due to the quake.
The people around the Donggala and Palu area are expected to remain calm and not affected by rumors.
