Jakarta Metro Police Chief Meets KPK over Novel Baswedan Case

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Metro Police Chief Insp. Gen. Idham Azis meets the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) leaders to discuss the investigation into an acid attack against KPK investigator Novel Baswedan.
KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah has confirmed that Jakarta police chief will discuss Novel Baswedan case.
“This noon, we will hold a press conference,” Febri said.

Earlier, KPK deputy chairman Laode M Syarif said that the agency will hold talks with police over the attack on Novel Baswedan.
He added that Jakarta police chief will lead the investigation.
Moreover, Syarif said that informal the National Police chief, deputy chief and Jakarta police chief often communicate with each other over the development of the investigation into the acid attack that occurred on April 11.
He suffered eye injuries and is currently being treated in a Singapore hospital.
Novel Baswedan is a KPK investigator who handles the electronic ID cards (e-KTP) graft case.
