South Korea, Indonesia to Cooperate in Infrastructure Development

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia and South Korea plan to hold cooperation in infrastructure development in the next few years.
Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono revealed such a plan in Jakarta on Friday (10/11) after welcoming a visit from a delegation of Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MoLIT) Kim Hyun Mee.
A number of cooperation fields were discussed in the billateral meeting, Basuki continued, including Karian Dam, Karian-Serpong water channel project, Karian Water Supply PPP Project, providing dam senior experts, intelligent transport system (ITS), and housing.
Minister Basuki explained that 47.9km Karian-Serpong water channel connected to Karian Dam will be funded by State Budget (APBN) and a loan from South Korean government through Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) which is worth Rp2.1 trillion.
For that purpose, PUPR Ministry will send a letter of request to National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) which will be passed on to EDCF by November 2017.
