TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said that the construction of Raknamo Dam in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) will be completed by December and will be inaugurated by President Jokowi. He said that the dam is 98 percent complete.
Luhut has lauded state-owned construction company Waskita Karya for constructing the dam that is expected to contain 77 million meter cubic of water quicker than the deadline.
“I believe that it’s an achievement and I thank Waskita team; the construction is 15 months quicker,” he said.
The government is aiming to complete the construction of seven dams in NTT by 2019, namely Rotiklot Dam (Belu District), Temef Dam (South Timor Tengah), Manikin Dam (Kupang District), Napun Gete Dam (Sikka District), Lando Dam (Nagekeo District), Kolhua Dam (Kupang City and Raknamo Dam (Kupang).
“Mr. Governor said that since the republic declared its independence, there is only one dam here. Going forward, the construction of seven dams is expected to be completed by 2019,” Luhut said.
