TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan paid a visit to flood victims in Cipete, South Jakarta on Thursday, October 19. He offered his condolences to the family of Ridwan (39) who was found dead in his house.
The Infrastructure and Public Facility Maintenance Agency (PPSU) workers found Ridwan floating lifeless inside his house on Thursday afternoon.

“I pray that he would be eased his way to the afterlife and God would dwell him in the best place,” the governor prayed for the family left behind.
Anies spared some time to discuss matters with local residents and also opened up to receive complaints about the flood that originated from the overflowed Krukut river. People explained to the governor that flooding in the area is an annual event.
Responding to the complaints, Anies Baswedan promised to search for a solution that could solve the flooding issue. “Maybe we will attempt to rake the riverbed, it would at least help with the water absorption,” said the Jakarta governor.
