TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Toyota Indonesia subsidiary, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN) showcased a positive improvement. The company exported 150,400 completely built-up (CBU) vehicles until September, based on the data released by TMMIN.
The export is a 22 percent increase compared to the same period of 2016. The export volumes are dominated by the export of 52,500 Toyota Fortuner (SUV), 36,100 Toyota Avanza (LMPV), and 20,700 Toyota Vios (Sedan).
The increase in export volumes is mainly caused by the recovering economy and also supported by the rising price of oil in the main export destination regions, which is the Middle Eastern countries.
“The Middle Eastern governments, especially Saudi Arabia, are aggressively increasing our export. Saudi Arabia contributes 35 percent of our total export. Meanwhile, the Middle Eastern has contributed to 50 percent of the total export,” said Bob Azzam, Director of Administration, Corporation, and External Relations of TMMIN.
In addition, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN) also exports completely knock-down (CKD) vehicles. The total export of CKD products reached 35,600 units.
