Chinese Company Determined to Win PLN Electric Meter Procurement

TEMPO.CO, China - A Chinese producer of electric meters Wasion Group is determined to win the tender for electric meters (kwh) from state-owned electricity company PT PLN.

After working together for the past four years with almost 100 percent market in Indonesia, Wasion Group is now targeting at least 30 percent out of the total of 1.5 million units of electric meters that PNL needs.

"We have sent product samples and they are being tested by PLN," Wasion Group director for foreign market Zhang Zenhua said in Changsha, China on Friday, Sept. 29.

If they win the tender, the company based in Hunan Province, China, will supply around 430,000 units of electric meters in the first phase on the fourth quarter of 2017, following the issue of the government’s new regulation on double suppliers.

This bidding process holds high importance since it will skyrocket Wasion Group sales from $3-4 million dollars to $10 million dollars per year. Early next year, China`s Wasion group also plans to introduce water energy meter to Indonesia.
