TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) has opened registration for volunteers who are willing to defend the people of Rohingya who are currently being oppressed by the Myanmar military and Buddhist extremists.
FPI Klaten branch chairman Suyadi Al Abu Fatih predicted that volunteers would need to prepare a budget of roughly Rp20 million – Rp30 million to cover the travel and daily living costs once they arrive in Rakhine.

The FPI requires candidates to be mentally and physically healthy and are around the age of 21-40 years. Meanwhile, volunteers who are under 20 must get permission from their parents.
“The volunteer [form] can be downloaded from FPI’s Facebook account and can be obtained at a post [in Klaten],” said Suyadi, adding that the training will be provided by the FPI central executive board in Jakarta.
