TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Police`s cyber criminal investigation agency arrested three people from the Saracen group, a group that provides hate-filled contents on online medias for economic gains. Its product mostly consists of memes or pictures with texts that promote hatred.
“So far, their motive is for economic reasons, other than administering social media accounts that spread hateful contents, they also administer an online media called Saracen, that was established in 2015,” said the police's Cyber Crimes Directorate head, Commissioner Irwan Anwar.
Irwan said that the group’s main income comes from ads revenues featured in the news portal that they run. The group also receives orders from certain mass-organizations in creating hateful contents which have become their business practice.
