TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Soekarno-Hatta Immigration Supervisory Committee arrested nine of the 24 foreign nationals who were captured in a sting operation in West Jakarta from August 9-10.
The foreigners were arrested in warehouses, apartments, and companies in the Cengkareng and Kalideres sub-districts of West Jakarta.
Seven Nigerians, an Iranian, and a People's Republic of China citizen allegedly violated immigration, as they were unable to show officers their passports.

"There is a possibility they are living illegally," Soekarno-Hatta Airport's Immigration officer Enang Syamsi said on Friday.
The foreigners are still being held at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Immigration office as authorities are working to determine what violations they committed and what penalties they will be given.
If they commit immigration violations, they will be deported. "But if there is a criminal element, we will submit it to the AGO," Enang said.
Eight of the nine foreigners who were detained, he said, will be charged with article 116 of the Immigration Act. An Iranian citizen, NH, uses another person's Russian's passport to enter Indonesia.
