Thousands Of Motorcycles Fill Pantura in 2017 Annual Homecoming

TEMPO.CO, Brebes - Four days towards the Eid al Fitr holiday, thousands of motorcyclists participating in the annual ‘mudik’ or homecoming are starting to crowd the North Coast highway at the Brebes section today. The number of motorcyclists entering Central Java has dramatically increased compared to the previous days.
Data from the Transportation Department’s traffic count team show that the number of motorcycles entering Brebes since midnight to this noon reached 35,480 motorcycles. It is a sudden increase compared to 15,770 motorcycles entering Brebes the day before.

“We predict that it will continue to increase and peak on Friday and Saturday this week of homecoming,” said Solikhatun Indah, Traffic Count officer from the Transportation Department in Brebes, today.
Cars and other four wheeled vehicles also increased, from 1,392 cars on Tuesday, June 20, to 2,013 cars today.

Based on our observation, the homecoming traffic at several locations throughout Brebes has been moderately smooth. As well as the center and Southern Coast highway route.
