Airworthiness Test for Eid Transport Aircraft Must Finish Today

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Directorate General for Air Transportation at the Transportation Ministry plans to complete airworthiness test and ramp check of all aircraft used for Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr transportation today, May 26.
Air Transportation director general Agus Santoso said 532 aircraft from all airlines in Indonesia are prepared as Ramadan and Eid transportation. Until Thursday, 510 planes have been tested. He added that the test for the remaining 22 planes will be completed on Saturday, May 27.
"So, on the first day of Ramadan, all 532 planes have been tested," Agus said in Jakarta on Friday, May 26.
In addition to aircraft, the government has checked the readiness of airports. As many as 35 airports were prepared to support the Ramadan and Eid transport.
Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi required ramp check to all Ramadan and Eid transport facilities. He puts the passengers’ safety as the main priority. Transportation Ministry targets zero accident during Eid homecoming this year.
Eid homecoming period is 26 days starting from June 15 to July 10, 2017. The peak of homecoming is estimated to take place on June 22, while the peak of counter-exodus is estimated to take place on July 2, 2017.
