TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) opens today's trade with a 0.45 percent (25.02 bps) decline to 5,590.47. Yesterday, the index fell 0.56 percent.
Throughout Wednesday JCI moved between 5,608.80 and 5,664.32. From the 547 shares traded, 134 posted price gains while 200 were corrected and 213 stagnated.
Seven out of nine sector indexes closed with a correction, the various industry sector leading the decline with 2.27 percent. The only sector that posted gain was infrastructure, climbing 0.27 percent, while the consumer sector stagnated.
The JCI weakened amid Southeast Asian bourses' varied movements. The PSEi gained 0.46 percent, the SE Thailand was up 0.23 percent, the FTSE Malay KLCI was down 0.28 percent, and the FTSE Straits Times fell 0.11 percent.
For today's trade, researchers predict the JCI to fluctuate. Mega Capital projects a limited correction between 5,580 and 5,635, while Indosurya believe there is potential for gain at around 5,602–5,691.
