TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Firza Husein’s lawyer Azis Yanuar said that his client is mulling filing a pretrial motion after police named Firza as a suspect in alleged steamy chat scandal.
“We are leaning toward it [pretrial motion],” Azis told Antara News yesterday.
Azis deplores Jakarta Police’s decision to name his client as a suspect, citing that the investigation was ‘questionable’.
The lawyer argued that investigators have yet to arrest the individual(s) who circulated the pornographic chats and documentation.
Azis said that Jakarta Police will have no difficulty in arresting and prosecuting the perpetrator of the steamy chat scandal implicating the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) leader Habib Rizieq Syihab.
“We regret that [Firza] has been named a suspect without any investigation into the individual who distributed [the contents],” Azis said.
Meanwhile, Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Argo Yuwono said that police are still trying to find the distributor of the pornographic contents.
