TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) president director Tito Sulistio said that the domestic capital market has not been affected by the massive global cyber-attack in the form of ransomware or WannaCry Malware.
“Every morning at 7 a.m., the IDX conducts a routine system check that I personally monitor. Hopefully, it’ll be safe,” Tito said on Monday, May 15, 2017.
Tito added that the Indonesian capital market is secured with layers of defense systems, and has adopted the technology used by Nasdaq. He also explained that the IDX online system checks are routinely conducted every morning, even before the ransomware spreads across the world.
“Our security system is the JATS-NextG (Jakarta Automated Trading System Next Generation) from Nasdaq. We have adopted this system for a long time,” Tito explained.
Although it has had a relatively safe online security system, Tito said, the IDX will continue to improve its security system to ensure the safety of investor’s activities.
Previously, Nasdaq President Adena T. Friedman said that Nasdaq is committed to providing assistance and support for IDX’s trades and security systems.
