TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo or Jokowi said that the government is determined to enhance the capacity of human resources in order to meet industrial needs and support Equitable Economic Policy (KPE) program.
In order to do so, Jokowi claimed, the government is developing vocation and work force policy.
There are at least two policies that the govenrment will set. First, the government will arrange and strengthen the road map of education and vocational training.
“This is done by reclassifying employment field and positions as well as prioritizing employment field and positions in Indonesia,” Jokowi said on Friday (21/4).
The government is also formulating job matching policy between vocation and industry as an effort to enhance the capacity of human resources.
The government will focus on strengthening vocational programs for industries with strong associations and well-established vocational scheme for automotive, tourism and transportation sectors.
Jokowi expressed that the government believe KPE not only embodies better national economic tranformation, but also serves as a necessary and sufficient foundation to free Indonesia from middle income trap to a better status as a developed country.
