West Java Police Deploy Cyber Army to Arrest Hoax Perpetrator

TEMPO.CO, Bandung - West Java police have assigned cyber army unit to anticipate and hunt hoax perpetrators spreading deception through social media especially on child kinapping.

"In cyber world, the cyber crime team will carry out a patrol, hunt down the hoax perpetrators. We will continue hunting to get them," West Java Police spokesperson Comr. Sr. Yusri Yunus said on Saturday (25/3).

Yusri confirmed that the child kidnapping issue broadcasted in social media sometime ago was a lie or a hoax. It has made parents very concerned.

He added that the police also assign public order officers (Babinkamtibmas) in order to educate people on the hoax.

"As a preventive measure, we have also designated Babinkantibmas to inform the people and clarify the hoax," he said.
