TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Law Expert from the Institute for Criminal Justice Reform (ICJR) Supriyadi W. Eddyono stated that the legal supervision of child pornography cases is too low compared to adult pornography cases.
“Only four of 29 police reports of child pornography that were able to be resolved in 2015, meanwhile, there was only a single case of child pornography in 2016, and it hasn’t been resolved,” Edi said on Sunday, March 19, 2017.
Meanwhile, there were 140 adult pornography cases in 2015 while 44 of them were resolved. But in 2016, only 35 cases were resolved out of 108 reports of adult pornography.
“In percentage, 2015 had 31.43 percent of resolved adult pornography cases but left child pornography cases only 3.45 percent resolved. In 2016, it was 32.41 percent each and zero percentage of them were resolved,” Edi said.
“Child pornography is not something new in Indonesia,” he said. Based on the observation conducted by ICJR in September 2016 up to February 2017, there were six resolved cases which involved 157 children.

This also includes the reveal of an online Facebook community that contains hundreds of images, videos, and writings linked to the act of pedophilia.
“The Facebook group has 7,000 members and also followed by the underaged members,” Edi said.
Even though the Police had successfully arrested the four administrators of the Facebook group, ICJR asked law enforcers to continue investigating every child pornography account, network, and online transaction on social media by collaborating with the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK).
